Stayed at the Seashells last week and we had a great family week away. Put aside the airport fiasco as this is by far ideal. The hotel is having quite a bit of work done and parts that are finished look good. We didn't have that much impact during our stay, except the temp breakfast arrangement which needed some common sense applied. The rooms we good but think we had a recent upgrade as other have reviewed they are dated but ours was not.
Staff were great all around the hotel with the entertainment team keeping the kids occupied during the day. The location is great and only 8 mins walk to the square with the local bars and restaurants along the front.
Some parts could be better organised including the kids play areas closed inside and the outside on needing some love. The pool was good and the slide a nice distraction for the kids. However the tiles around the pool were very slippy and dangerous. There was a lot of people commenting and falling whilst we were there.
Overall the hotel is worth going to once all the refurb is done and the restrictions are lifted as this also does not make it a truly enjoyable holiday.

Amazing installation and services, we only opted for breakfast included and it was very tasty and good variety.
The bedroom was clean and comfortable, making our stay very pleasant.
I'm only giving it 4 stars because sometimes we felt a little bit lost. Information given by them on paper was differing from other papers or the information giving at the reception. However, we managed to find our way.
Overall, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a gateway in the city or people traveling to Malta, you have lots of restaurants nearby with a great atmosphere.

Friendly and warm welcome from Katrina when we checked in.
The hotel is clean, spacious and very family friendly.
The pool was good as many kids can swim without parents support as the depth about 1.2m.
I like the fact they had an adult pool and sun lounge area. Keeps the grumpy ones away from he kids.
We booked bed and breakfast via hotel directly and price was reasonable.
The breakfast I found disappointing bread was cheap and no variety. The fruits they offered seem finish if you turn up late. Coffee cup half full and queues to get a drink. Coffee ok nothing special.
I would have like to see porridge or sugar free selections.
Room was beautiful size we had a lot of space and balcony. The room was well equipped. Pillows are very old and lumpy. Mini fridge was more like a cooler box. I did not like the fact electric sockets stop working when you leave the room. Means phone and tablets don't get charged.
House keeping changed daily so no consistency some clean really well, others not too great.
They have an offer if you do not use house keeping you can get a €10 voucher to spend in their bar/restaurants GREAT IDEA to save environment.
Animation team were amazing especially Cesar.
I loved the ironing room they have on forth floor great idea I wish more hotels had this.
Overall we had a great time and would go back again.

Absolutely amazing place for a kids up to 10-12 years old. Slide, good size of not deep swimming pool, shallow small swimming pool for a babies and restaurant with kid's menu. Animators work well, children involved in a different competitions and enjoy dancing as well.
You can use a half day, if it's hard to stay all day. They are working up to 7PM.

We stayed last week of May 2 adults and a child in a family room. The positive points were the staff was nice, the restaurant was good and the food was not too bad. Here to mention that we had all incisive package but we were not given a proper beverages menu only the food menu. So to order a drink we had to almost torture the waiter to find out what we could have. Same for children menu, discovered ourself on the day 3, the staff never told us they had one.
The hotel is really old(1988). The lobby was full of ancient furniture, broken chairs, old pianos, dying plants. When we arrived there was no batteries in the safe and TV remote controls. TVs in both rooms were tiny. Bathroom shower hose was extremely old and had a hole. We complained but only got it fixed the next day. Rain shower was also broken so we could only use the hose. Towels also old. The rooms floor was extremely dirty with some kind of orange dust on it, never got mopped during our stay( and more likely before we arrived). The twin beds all the times were getting separated at night making our 4 yo son’s legs and arms trapped in the hole. In general the furniture in the rooms was cheap and rooms were purely decorated, instead of a sofa or canapé we had a garden furniture.
The swimming pool area was not too busy so we were lucky otherwise I cannot imagine if the hotel is fully booked how busy it gets. The sun beds were never cleaned. The baby pool was developing some yellow algae that destroyed our swimming costumes completely. We though had a very nice experience with the entertainer in the pool area, he is lovely and chatty , thank you Caesar!

Great hotel, the staff are friendly and very accommodating to your needs, my partner had her birthday while here and I asked if a bottle of wine could be delivered of which they did also they had house keeping come and dress the bed with balloons and a elephant sculpture from towels which she adored.
The breakfast is plentiful, hot with such a good verity that it caters for everyone.
Highly recommended.

A great stay in a comfortable well equipped hotel. A massive building with a bar, massive dining room, gift shop, souvenir shop and sauna.
Good access for wheelchair users and plenty of lifts.
The staff are to be commended for those friendliness and helpfulness.
The breakfast buffet caters for all tastes from vegans to bacon lovers. Eat one of their hearty breakfasts (self service) and you won't want to eat again until late afternoon!
There is also a bus stop outside from where you can use the public transport which I recommend. Public transport is good and (almost) always on time. You can buy (at the time of me writing this review) a 12 journey bus pass which covers the entire island for €15.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the cleaners do an excellent job of keeping things clean around the hotel. The food is good with plenty of choice and the staff are polite and friendly. The only downside to our visit and the only reason I have given four 🌟 is our room 109. This room has a connecting door to 108 and the sound carries through the closed door. We had to complain when the man in 108 had the TV on at 2am!!! We had to speak in hushed voices all the time or he would knock on the door, luckily we were out most of the time. So beware of connecting doors, they are not all soundproofed.
PS: Since writing the review we have been to reception and sorted out the noise problem. The reception staff were very helpful and went out of their way to solve the problem

I had a wonderful experience here, I stayed for 9 days. The staff was great and responsive. The restaurant food was great, really an option for anyone whether you're picky or love tasting local as well as familiar food. The rooms were clean, most guests were friendly (except the odd racist person here and there but unfortunately that's the world we live in).
If staying here I recommend the half board option! So your breakfast is sorted, you go around for your tours around Malta and have lunch somewhere new. Stop at the Cheeky monkey on your way back for a cocktail during happy hour and then round off with a lovely dinner at their buffet.
Be mindful that their buffet is quite popular with the locals so some nights you might see a lot of people but nothing the restaurant can't handle as the different sections are constantly restocked and hot.
My room was a sea view room and it was honestly such a lovely thing to wake up to every morning. I recommend it as a solo traveller and if I come back to Malta I will absolutely stay here again!
Thanks again for the great experience :)
