The Mercure Bucharest City Centre is a great example on how souped up photos of a place create a false image. On various websites including the hotel's own it looks quite elegant, the highest room category (the one here) shows a terrace. There is none. There is no balcony, neither do the small windows open properly. When you are actually here the rooms have more the charm of a Praktiker-Baumarkt with cheap furniture and the like (fake wood). Like most chain-hotels the windows are tiny and start from your chest upwards. The red status LED of the TV glares directly into your face at night as to remind you that if you would have worked a little bit harder in your life you could now be sleeping in a glitzy hotel. Central location though and clean. Slow and erratic internet speed. Stay there if you must.

Nice hotel, too bad that some employees are the opposite. I was shocked about the attitude of the entrance guard who allowed a car to park illegally on the sidewalk, thus obstructing the entire pedestrian passageway. When confronted, he replied that we should all be more tolerant towards illegal (and socially unacceptable) parking. Mercure, if you want to provide premium service, pease choose your personal more carefully.

La recepción és sencilla, en general es muy sencillito pero luego las habitaciones son muy cómodas, el servicio es muy amable. Muy buena limpieza y los desayunos estan bastante bien. Bastante centrico. a 1km encuentras bastante ambiente pubs, restaurantes, tiendas bibliotecas....

Bien situado. Zona tranquila. Limpio y las habitaciones están bien. El personal un poco borde y el desayuno bastante completo. Recomendable para quedarse en Bucharest.

Very good one! Wonderful service - ladies on reception were very polite and professional. Food at breakfast was very, very good. Choice was more than enough, atmosphere was great, music relaxing :) Rooms were big enough, not big but just enough for one person and everything needed was there. Bathrooms clean. Location of the hotel is at downtown so you are at about 1,2 km walking from most of the attractions - parliament and old city, for example. There is underground parking available as well. Very satisfied!

Very nice hotel in the Center of Bukarest.Room big clean and very quiet. Breakfast is with a lot of choice and very good. The service is friendly and cool. I have appreciated my trip. Just the choice of the TV channel is not so large but for chance the Wi-Fi is running very fast.

Exactly what you aspect from a Mercure , very clean comfortable and quiet room , nice breakfast , staff very helpful and polite , only a few minutes walk from city centre , lots of restaurant and supermarket around , easy to park near the hotel , very very happy about my staying
